Varbergs Enskilda Gymnasieskola
In collaboration with [Jonatan björklund] at academedia
When two schools in Varberg merged, they needed more than just a new name – they needed a strong visual identity.
Varbergs Enskilda Gymnasieskola is a new school in Varberg, Sweden, created by merging two of AcadeMedia’s high schools: LBS and DBGY. This new brand was built from the ground up through shared creativity and the contributions of many. My role as a graphic designer was to develop a visual identity that feels warm, personal, and inviting — while also remaining youthful and engaging for high school students. The challenge was clear: How do you create a visual identity that unifies all of these qualities?
We found a creative direction that balances tradition and modernity. By combining brush strokes with carefully chosen colors, the visual identity reflects a sense of closeness, warmth, and youthfulness. Playful details and bold design choices add just the right amount of edge to make the brand feel fresh and contemporary. The final visual identity is more than just design — it’s a fresh expression that dares to surprise, engage, and connect. It captures the school’s spirit perfectly: confident, personal, and all about growth and individuality.
